VenaSeal

VenaSeal

Home remedies for varicose veins may sound like a great idea, but more often than not they are not very effective. Once varicose veins have developed, the vein itself needs to be treated, which is difficult and unsafe to do at home. Treatments like VenaSeal Bend are a good option when you want to avoid surgery. VenaSeal Bend is simple and requires no tumescent anesthesia so you can be in and out of our office and back on your feet in one day.

Discover if VenaSeal™ is right for you by visiting the Commonwealth Vein Center. We offer many different options for varicose veins and spider veins, so visit our practice in Colonial Heights to learn more. Contact us today to schedule your consultation!

What is VenaSeal™?

To put it in simple terms, VenaSeal™ is like superglue for your veins. Varicose veins no longer work properly, so the blood pools into one spot. This long-lasting treatment closes the vein off, which reroutes the blood flow into healthy veins. Varicose veins can cause serious medical problems, and at the very least they can be uncomfortable and unsightly.

VenaSeal™ is a special medical adhesive that seals the problem veins shut. A small catheter is used to place the adhesive in the right spot. Pressure will then be applied to the vein to help hold it closed, much like how you would close anything else together. Once the catheter is removed a bandage will be placed over the area.

What is Recovery Like?

Unlike many other vein treatment options, you won’t have to wear compression stockings after a VenaSeal™ treatment session. There is less bruising and less pain than with other procedures as well. After you leave our office you can immediately go about your day with no major recovery time to consider.

The Results

After a minimally invasive treatment, the blood flow will be rerouted and the problem veins will disappear. Most patients report that the problem veins stayed closed for up to three years. VenaSeal™ does not prevent new varicose veins from forming, so it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and ask our professionals about preventative measures.
